Welcome to the Omagh Sub-Aqua Club Web Site!
Omagh is situated 70 miles west of Belfast, 36 miles south of Derry, in Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The club was formed in 1979, and is affiliated to C.F.T. - The Irish Underwater Council, a member of CMAS - the worldwild diving body. The present club membership is just over 30 diving members, with some Junior Snorkellers and Associate members. Trainee members are usually recruited for training at the end of each Diving Season.
Chairman - Andy Miller
As Omagh is not on the coast of Ireland, the nearest dive sites are located off the North and West coasts. The Club's most popular dive site is Mullaghmore on the North-West coast of County Sligo. This area has very sheltered sites where inexperienced divers can safely undergo tuition in open water. There are also more adventurous sites for the more experienced divers which can be accessed by boat, such as Ballyconnell, Inishmurray Island and Saint John's Point.
All OSAC Divers are covered by Insurance under our affiliation to C.F.T.. Sometimes guest divers ask to dive with us. They are most welcome if we have room in the boat!, for a small fee. It is vital, however, that they have insurance through their own Diving body or Association and their Diver's Log-book or Brevet.
